Michigan defensive end Mike Morris became the first player from Broward or Palm Beach counties to be selected in the third day of the NFL draft on Saturday.

Morris, who attended American Heritage-Delray, was picked up by the Seattle Seahawks with the 151st selection (fifth round).

In the sixth round, former Park Vista star wideout Atorian (A.T.) Perry went to the New Orleans Saints with the 195th pick, and then Seattle picked up former University School running back Kenny McIntosh in the seventh round (237).

Morris had, by far, his best season in Ann Arbor in 2022, with 7.5 sacks and 11 tackles for loss.

Propelled by grabbing 544 yards in passes for six touchdowns over his final five games at Wake Forest, Perry finished senior year with 1,096 receiving yards and 11 scores.

McIntosh was a huge cog for the national-champion Bulldogs, also finishing strong with 586 total yards and five touchdowns over his final five games.
