Fresh off victories at the Division 1 and Meet of Championships, the Brockton standout set a new meet record in the 55-meter hurdles at Saturday’s New England Track Championships at Reggie Lewis Center. His winning time of 7.22 broke the previous standard of 7.30. Lowell’s Khai Yin placed third in the event (7.45).

Peabody’s Alex Jackson won the shot put with a throw of 64-09.25, more than three feet ahead of runner-up Brandon Wolfenden of Pilgrim (R.I.). Sharon’s Josy Brown-Wright took the 300 in a winning time of 34.73.

Shrewsbury’s Derek Shimer won the high jump with a leap of 6-11.00. Logan Sullivan of Hopkinton took third (6-07.00). Marblehead’s Nathaniel Assa was the champion in the 2-mile (9:04.60)

On the girls side, Natick’s Emmanuella Edozien took second in two events, the 55-meter hurdles (7.96) and the long jump (19-04.00). Dennis-Yarmouth speedster Breanna Braham was second in the 300 (38.00), finishing behind dual-winner Lisa Raye of West Warwick.

Whitinsville Christian’s Emily Flagg won the 2-mile event, finishing in a time of 10:42.59. Haverhill’s Madeline Goncalves was third in the shot put (41-08.00) and Norton’s Zoe Santos was second in the high jump (5-7).

Bree Lawrence and Sophia Barbosa scored as No. 6 Methuen/Tewksbury (18-1-3) rallied in the third period to defeat No. 22 Boston Latin 3-2 in a Div. 1 second-round tilt.
