BASEBALL

Rocco Ryan pitched a complete game with five strikeouts and two earned runs as Salem defeated Bishop Fenwick, 3-2, in nonleague action. … Josh Florence went seven innings and struck out seven as Central Catholic defeated Catholic Memorial, 4-2, in eight innings. … Alex Merkle hit a two-run triple as Reading blanked Lynnfield 2-0.

Ryan Kelly pitched six innings, allowing one run and striking out 12 as Milton topped Needham, 3-1, in the Bay State Conference.

Liam Friis pitched a one-hit shutout with 11 strikeouts as Triton defeated Manchester Essex, 5-0, in the Cape Ann League.

In the Merrimack Valley Conference, Jeff LaVolpicelo knocked in two runs as North Andover doubled up Lowell, 6-3.

In an Independent School League semifinal, Connor Crane allowed one earned run in five innings, while Jack Kelleher went 2-for-3 with two RBI as St. Sebastian’s edged Belmont Hill, 3-2.

Chris Macdonald (3-for-4, two RBI and two doubles) and Ryan Bowdridge (2-for-3, four RBI) led the way for Malden (12-4) in a 12-3 win over Minuteman Tech in the semifinals of the East Boston Strike Out Colon Cancer Tournament. Bowdridge (6-0) also scattered five hits and struck out seven.

SOFTBALL

Christina Chane went 3-for-4 as Middleboro (11-3) defeated Carver 9-5 in the South Shore League. … Sarah Silvia (two hits, two runs and three RBI) and Zoe Kelly (three hits, two runs and two RBI) led the offensive attack as East Bridgewater rolled over Rockland, 16-4. … Shannon Macleod struck out 10, giving her 500 strikeouts for her career, as Notre Dame (9-5) defeated Hingham, 3-0. Macleod hit a solo home run and Jessica Chiarenza added a two-run double in the sixth to close out the scoring.

In a Cape Ann League game, Emma Penniman struck out 15 and Mallory Johnson smacked a walk-off double to lift Triton (11-4) past North Reading, 2-1 in eight innings.

Kelsey Blanchette went 2-for-4 with two home runs and six RBI as Lincoln-Sudbury defeated Acton-Boxboro 11-1 in the Dual County League.

BOYS LACROSSE

Talan Rafter scored three goals as Beverly defeated Arlington 8-5 in a nonleague contest.

GIRLS LACROSSE

Allie Wile scored four goals, while Estelle Gromko added three goals and an assist as Ipswich defeated Georgetown 14-4 in the Cape Ann League.

In Nonleague action, Bailey Kelly (four goals, assist) Shannon Balfe (four goals) and Lillie MacKinnon (two goals, two assists) paced Whitman-Hanson (11-6) to a 11-6 win over New Bedford.
