BOYS BASKETBALL

Jayden Welch scored 24 points as Lynn Tech topped English, 71-62, in nonleague action. … Jake Fortier led St. Mary’s of Lynn with 17 points as the Spartans defeated Martha’s Vineyard 63-50. … Junior Devin O’Brien netted 21 points, including five triples, while sophomores Jimmy Farrell and Jamason Vella each had 12 as Masconomet (9-8) edged Tewksbury 53-29.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Effie Giannopoulos scored 22 points as undefeated Notre Dame (Hingham) clinched the Catholic Conference title with a 68-42 win over Ursuline.

Allie Danis scored 16 points as Newton North defeated Milton 51-38 in the Bay State Conference.

BOYS HOCKEY

Logan Casey tallied a goal and an assist as Essex Tech defeated North Reading, 3-1, in Cape Ann League play.

Will Manchusi had three goals and two assists as Concord-Carlisle defeated Newton South 9-1 in the Dual County League.

Chris McCarthy and Caiden Brady each netted a goal and an assist as Winchester rolled to a 7-4 victory over Woburn in the Middlesex League.

Jack Walsh scored three times as Walpole defeated Natick 4-0 in the Bay State Conference.

In a nonleague game, Connor McKenna scored twice both assisted by Luke May to lead St. John’s (S) to a 3-2 win over Arlington Catholic. … Finn Racki had two tallies as St. Mary’s of Lynn (10-8-1) bested Malden Catholic 3-1. … Sheamus  Foley ,Christopher Cassesso and Shane Doe scored as Somerville defeated Lexington 3-2 in overtime.

GIRLS HOCKEY

Molly Driscoll scored twice as Belmont (11-1-3) took down Middlesex League opponent Arlington, 3-1.

Lily Hayes scored the game winner midway through the third period as Pope Francis (11-5-1) upset Dixbury, 2-1.
