Police have determined that the body of an infant girl was found outside a Revere apartment building Tuesday night.
Revere police officers responded to the apartment block along Dolphin Avenue near its intersection with Henry Street shortly after 6:20 p.m. Tuesday after an adult had reported possible human remains near the walls of the building, according to the Massachusetts State Police.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner took custody of the remains that night. Just before 3:40 p.m. Wednesday, the MSP shared that the medical examiner determined that the remains were those of a “female infant, who was at or close to full-term, and who likely was white or light skinned.”
The cause of death has not yet been determined and is pending an investigation by the State Police and Revere Police.
Investigators ask that anyone with any information contact State Police detectives at 617-727-8817.
This is a developing story.
