It’s been a rough stretch for the Red Sox starting pitchers, who have collectively underperformed over the past week or so.

Tanner Houck will look to snap that skid tonight.

The Red Sox ace will take the mound as the club opens a three-game weekend series with the Houston Astros. Houck is 8-8 with a 3.09 ERA on the season, but since the All-Star break he’s posted a 6.88 ERA over 17 innings and the club has lost all three of his starts.

Houck will face off against Houston’s Ronel Blanco, who is 9-6 with a 2.98 ERA on the season. The Astros are currently tied with the Seattle Mariners for first in the AL West, while Boston is 1.5 games back of the Kansas City Royals for the last American League playoff spot.
