The Red Sox are spending their Fourth of July week in Miami. There, they’ll attempt to pad their win total against a struggling Marlins team that owns a 30-54 record, including 16-27 at home, and a minus-126 run differential.

Boston will face rookie Valente Bellozo in Tuesday’s series opener. The right-hander, 24, is precisely one game into his Major League career. It was an impressive debut; over five scoreless innings on June 26, he held a potent Kansas City Royals lineup to two hits, zero walks, and two strikeouts.

Kutter Crawford is coming off a start cut short. He was 1.1 innings into his outing against the Blue Jays when a torrential thunderstorm put the game on pause. (It will be resumed when the Blue Jays return to Fenway Park in August.)

Crawford began the season in excellent form, posting a 1.35 ERA between his March 30 season debut and his sixth start at the end of April. Since May 1, however, he’s posted a 4.85 ERA over 10 starts. He hasn’t been helped by the defense, which has yielded eight unearned runs in his games this year.
