Ravens wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. will not have charges brought against him after being accused last month of assaulting a woman at a club in West Hollywood, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office said on Monday.

TMZ Sports reported last month that Beckham was being investigated after a woman alleged the 30-year-old put his hand around her neck at Delilah on Santa Monica Boulevard. Beckham denied the allegation.

“A review of surveillance video from inside the nightclub contradicts the complaining witness’s account of events,” Christopher Baker, assistant head deputy for the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office’s Charge Evaluation Division, wrote in a charge evaluation worksheet. “The video does not capture any battery.”

Baker also noted that there was no other witness to corroborate the woman’s description of the incident and that no injury was observed on the complaining witness.

He also wrote that the assigned detective interviewed a friend of the complaining witness. That person was standing beside the complaining witness and the accused at the time of the alleged incident, and the friend told the detective she did not see the accused put his hands on the woman.

Baker said there was insufficient evidence to prove a case beyond a reasonable doubt.

Beckham, a two-time All-Pro, joined the Ravens last month after signing a one-year contract worth a reported $15 million. The three-time Pro Bowl selection missed all of last season while recovering from a torn ACL that he suffered during the Los Angeles Rams’ Super Bowl 56 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals.

Last year, Beckham was also removed from an American Airlines flight before takeoff in Miami after the flight crew found him in and out of consciousness as they tried to wake him to fasten his seatbelt. Upon the arrival of police, he was asked several times by the flight crew to exit the aircraft but refused. The aircraft was deplaned, and Beckham was asked by the officers to exit the plane and did so without incident. Beckham’s attorney blamed the incident in part on an “overzealous flight attendant.”

In 2020, Beckham faced a charge of simple battery after being accused of slapping the butt of a security guard after his alma mater LSU won the national championship, but the arrest warrant was rescinded.

“I’ve made mistakes in my past, but who hasn’t as a young man who’s got the entire world spotlighted on him?” Beckham said during his introductory news conference with the Ravens last month. “I definitely think that I could have done some things differently, as a young man, but we all live and learn, and we grow through our mistakes.”
