Police in Salisbury are investigating after the body of a man washed up on shore at the center of the summer beach community.

The body was discovered by a person walking along the beach in front of Ocean Front Drive&nbsp; at approximately 1 a.m. Tuesday.

Police responded and pulled the body from ankle deep water. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The death is being investigated by State Police detectives, the Essex DA’s office and Salisbury Police.
