NextImg:Police identify 65-year-old woman fatally stabbed in Ramsay Park

Boston Police identified the victim in a fatal stabbing in Ramsay Park on Saturday afternoon as a local 65-year-old woman.

Around 12:45 p.m. on Saturday, officers responded to a call about a person stabbed in the South End/Roxbury park, Boston Police said in a release Monday.

Responders found the victim suffering from multiple stab wounds in the park, and Boston EMS aided the woman on the scene. The woman was taken to a local hospital but died of her injuries at 11:40 p.m.

The victim was identified Monday as Boston-resident Celia Simmons, 65, by the police department.

Police did not state any details surrounding the stabbing motive or suspects as of Monday.

The incident is under active investigation by the Boston Police Department’s Homicide Unit.
