Patriots quarterback Drake Maye was limited for a second straight practice Thursday, when three other players increased their on-field participation.
Maye’s presence at the start of Thursday’s practice indicated he also increased his workload, as he progresses through the NFL’s concussion protocol. Maye was limited to a maximum of 30 minutes of practice time on Wednesday and did not participate in opening drills or stretching.
Wide receiver Ja’Lynn Polk (concussion) and safety Marte Mapu (neck) were upgraded to full participation Thursday, while linebacker Christian Elliss (abdomen), left tackle Vederian Lowe (ankle/shoulder) and defensive tackle Jaquelin Roy (neck) improved to limited participation after sitting out Wednesday’s session.
Wide receiver Tyquan Thornton was a new addition to Thursday’s injury report with an ankle injury.
Cornerback Alex Austin (ankle), safety Kyle Dugger (ankle), defensive tackle Daniel Ekuale (abdomen), running back Antonio Gibson (toe), cornerback Jonathan Jones (shoulder), guards Michael Jordan (ankle) and Layden Robinson (ankle), linebackers Sione Takitaki (knee) and LB Jahlani Tavai (back) and defensive lineman Keion White (knee) remained limited for a second straight day.
