The Patriots got out to a hot start Saturday night, and it came with their starting offense and defense on the field.
Quarterback Mac Jones started alongside running back Rhamondre Stevenson, wide receivers DeVante Parker, Kendrick Bourne and JuJu Smith-Schuster, tight end Hunter Henry and offensive linemen Trent Brown, Atonio Mafi, David Andrews, Riley Reiff and Sidy Sow.
Here’s a look at their starting defense:
DL: Christian Barmore, Davon Godchaux, Deatrich Wise
LB: Mack Wilson, Jahlani Tavai, Matthew Judon
CB: Jack Jones, Christian Gonzalez
S: Kyle Dugger, Adrian Phillips, Jabrill Peppers
Defensive tackle Lawrence Guy and linebacker Ja’Whaun Bentley were the only surprises who didn’t start Saturday night’s game.
Projected starting offensive linemen Cole Strange and Mike Onwenu (PUP list) didn’t dress for Saturday’s game.
The Patriots took over a short field after a Packers turnover in the first quarter. A muffed snap from the Packers gave the Patriots the ball at Green Bay’s 18-yard line after a Josh Uche recovery. Stevenson scored on a 1-yard touchdown plunge.
