FOXBORO — There’s a new injury to monitor before the Patriots play the Bengals in Sunday’s season opener.
Running back Antonio Gibson was limited in practice Thursday with a hip injury.
Here’s the full injury report:
G Sidy Sow, Ankle
RB Antonio Gibson, Hip
T Vederian Lowe, Abdomen
LB Joshua Uche, Foot
TE Hunter Henry, Foot
CB Jonathan Jones, Hamstring
LB Anfernee Jennings, Wrist
DE Deatrich Wise Jr, Hamstring
LB Oshane Ximines, Ankle
LB Christian Elliss
Jones and Ximines were both upgraded from limited. Elliss previously was dealing with a concussion and now should be good to play in Week 1.
Gibson is the backup behind starting running back Rhamondre Stevenson. The Patriots also have JaMycal Hasty on their roster as a third running back/special-teamer.
If Gibson can’t play Sunday, then Kevin Harris or Terrell Jennings could be elevated from the practice squad to take his place on the active roster.
