FOXBORO — Patriots rookie wide receiver Javon Baker and cornerback Marcellas Dial are “ready to go” for training camp, according to head coach Jerod Mayo.
Baker (fractured thumb) and Dial (undisclosed) were both limited with injuries during the Patriots’ offseason workout program. Neither player was placed on the PUP or non-football injury list when rookies reported last week.
Baker, a fourth-round pick out of UCF, ranked second in the FBS last season with 21.9 yards per reception, catching 52 passes for 1,139 yards with seven touchdowns. He’ll compete for playing time with fellow rookie Ja’Lynn Polk and veteran receivers Kendrick Bourne, K.J. Osborn and DeMario Douglas, among others.
Dial, a sixth-round pick out of South Carolina, was the Patriots’ lone defensive draft pick.
