FOXBORO — Patriots running back Rhamondre Stevenson returned to practice Thursday after missing Wednesday’s session with a foot injury and personal matter.
Stevenson’s foot injury dates back to almost three weeks ago, when he left the team’s home loss to Miami in Week 5. He missed the Pats’ ensuing loss to Houston, but played last weekend against the Jaguars in London, rushing for 18 yards on seven carries. Stevenson returned with rookie linebacker Curtis Jacobs, who has primarily played special teams and also sat out Wednesday.
Meanwhile, two rookies were absent for a second straight day: wide receiver Ja’Lynn Polk and right guard Layden Robinson. Both players left last weekend’s loss to Jacksonville with fresh injuries. Polk sustained a concussion, and Robinson told the Herald he suffered a “slight sprain” of his ankle.
The Patriots will hold one more practice Friday before kicking off against the Jets on Sunday at 1 p.m. The team’s next injury report will be released Thursday evening.
