NextImg:Patriots ownership, team plane ripped in NFLPA Team Report Cards

The latest NFLPA Team Report Cards won’t help the Patriots attract any free agents this offseason.

The Patriots ranked 31st out of 32 teams in the report cards released Wednesday morning.

That represents a fall for the Patriots, who were 29th out of 32 teams in last year’s marks.

Team ownership, led by Robert Kraft and Jonathan Kraft, received particularly low grades, ranking 29th with a D.

Players “feel that Kraft slightly contributes to a positive team culture, a rank of 30 out of 32” and “feel that Kraft is somewhat committed to building a competitive team, a rank of 30 of the 32 NFL owners.”

The Patriots are building a new facility that will be adjacent to Gillette Stadium which should improve the team’s weight room (F, 32nd), training room (C-, 30th) and locker room (C-, 22nd) grades. But issues will still persist if the Krafts don’t continue to invest in the comfort of players.

The Patriots’ team travel received an F grade and ranked 31st out of 32 teams despite the team owning their own plane.

“Players want an upgraded team plane. The current plane is too small, there is no Wi-Fi available, and there are seats with ashtrays in the armrests,” the report card stated. “Players specifically responded that “our plane is the worst thing – size, space, safety.” and “it is not conducive to preparedness for athletic performance.”

The Patriots received a C+ and ranked 18th out of 32 teams in treatment of families, which is a significant upgrade over last year’s F- score, which ranked 30th.

The Patriots introduced daycare and a family room during home games this season. They also hired a staff member to “oversee family services.”

This upgrade exhibits the value of the NFLPA Report Cards, since improvements might not have been made without this anonymous survey.

Here are the Patriots’ full grades and rankings in each category:

Treatment of Families: C+, 18th
Food / Dining Area: C, 24th
Nutritionist / Dietician: B, 25th
