FOXBORO — The Patriots returned leading receiver Demario Douglas to practice Wednesday, his first since suffering a concussion against the Giants on Nov. 27.

Douglas missed the team’s last two games with the concussion, his second of the season. Douglas still leads the Patriots with 410 receiving yards. The 23-year-old still only running back Rhamondre Stevenson and injured receiver Kendrick Bourne in total catches with 36.

Stevenson (ankle) and practice-squad defensive tackle Trysten Hill were the only player absences Wednesday. Backup offensive tackle Tyrone Wheatley Jr. practiced for the first time since mid-October, when he was placed on injured reserve with a knee injury. Wednesday’s practice was the Patriots’ first since last Thursday’s 21-18 win at Pittsburgh.

The Pats are currently preparing for their penultimate home game of the season, which is set for Sunday at 1 p.m. versus Kansas City. The Patriots will release their first injury report of the week Wednesday evening.
