FOXBORO — Patriots kicker Joey Slye was not spotted Friday during the portion of practice open to the media.
Wide receiver Braylon Sanders, who’s on the practice squad, also was not present.
It would not be surprising if Slye’s absence is related to a personal matter rather than injury.
Otherwise, the other 52 members of the Patriots’ 53-man roster and remaining 16 players on the practice squad were spotted.
That includes rookie starting quarterback Drake Maye, was expected to be limited in practice as he remains in concussion protocol. Maye was first in quarterback reps during Friday’s individual drills.
Head coach Jerod Mayo said Friday that despite Maye being in concussion protocol, the rookie QB still could play Sunday.
“Once (Maye) gets out of the protocol and he’s been cleared by the medical professionals, he’ll be ready to go,” Mayo said.
