FOXBORO — Patriots safety Kyle Dugger is among five starters listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Chargers.
Dugger missed two practiced this week with quad and ankle injuries. Fellow safety Jabrill Peppers, who missed last weekend’s game at Buffalo, is also questionable with a hamstring injury. The other starters are inside linebacker Jahlani Tavai, outside linebacker Anfernee Jennings and center Ben Brown.
If Brown, who is in concussion protocol, can’t play, offensive lineman Cole Strange could see his first start of the season. Strange tore his patellar tendon last December and hasn’t taken an offensive snap in more than 12 months. The Patriots’ options at center are Strange and Lecitus Smith, whom they signed off Green Bay’s practice squad in mid-October.
Rookie offensive tackle Caedan Wallace could also make his return to action for the first time since Week 3 when he suffered a serious ankle injury.
In Los Angeles, the Chargers ruled out running back Gus Edwards.
