Bill Belichick is still employed as the Patriots’ head coach, but that hasn’t stopped interest from forming in Belichick and his current job.
The Athletic’s Dianna Russini reported Monday that if Belichick becomes available, the Falcons, who fired head coach Arthur Smith early Monday morning, are a team to watch.
“They are interested, per source,” Russini wrote.
The Falcons went 7-10 in all three of Smith’s seasons as head coach. Though Smith is out, general manager Terry Fontenot is still currently at his post with the Falcons.
Additionally, if Belichick is out as head coach, then Titans head coach Mike Vrabel is “interested in the idea of returning to the Patriots,” sources told Bleacher Report’s Jordan Schultz.
Vrabel is 54-45 as head coach of the Titans through six seasons. The former Patriots linebacker led the Titans to the postseason in 2019, 2020 and 2021 but is 13-21 over the last two seasons.
