Firearms charges were dropped against Patriots cornerback Jack Jones on Tuesday, but an NFL spokesperson told the Herald that the league has “been following developments in the matter which remains under review.”
The NFL could still discipline Jones for the incident when he was arrested in June after police say they found two pistols in the 25-year-old’s carry-on luggage as he was going through security.
According to the Suffolk DA’s office, Jones agreed to one year of probation which will include 48 hours of community service to youth and community organizations, presenting the dangers of firearms, firearm safety and the proper handling of firearms.
Jones missed practice Thursday with a hamstring ailment that first popped up on the injury report Wednesday. Head coach Bill Belichick previously said Jones would be available for Sunday’s game against the Eagles.
