The 21-year-old Air National Guardsman charged with leaking classified military secrets to his friends on an online gaming forum will learn his detention fate next week,

A detention hearing in the case of Jack Teixeira at the federal courthouse in Boston was canceled at the last minute Wednesday to an uncertain future date. On Friday, U.S. District Court Magistrate Judge David H. Hennessy scheduled a new detention hearing for Thursday in the federal court in Worcester where the judge usually sits.

Teixeira is an E-3/Airman First Class stationed at Otis Air National Guard Base on Cape Cod, and was arrested in North Dighton on April 13 and charged in Boston federal court the next day with unauthorized removal and transmission of national defense information and unauthorized removal and retention of classified documents or materials.

He pleaded not guilty to the charges and is being held without bail pending his full detention hearing.

Teixeira is the leader of a Discord server, which is what the gaming-dominated social media platform calls individual groups or forums, with about 50 members. The feds allege that in this group he posted more than 40 images of classified documents. The images were said to have been posted to the group between December 2022 and last month.
