LOUDON, N.H. – The torrential rains and high winds that ripped through northern New England on Sunday forced the postponement of the NASCAR Cup Series Crayon 301 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

The race has been rescheduled for Monday at noon and will be televised on the USA Network. All the practice sessions and qualifying rounds were completed on Saturday with defending champion Christopher Bell securing the pole position.

Bell’s teammate at Joe Gibbs Racing, Martin Truex Jr., will join him on the front row. Row two will feature 2021 winner Aric Almirola and reigning Cup Series champion Joey Logano, who has two victories on the Magic Mile. Cup Series points leader William Byron qualified seventh and will be on the inside position on row four beside Bubba Wallace.

The race attracts many fans from the Province of Quebec and neighboring Vermont, which has been hit hard by flooding from two storms.

“It’s a bummer for not just for us here in New Hampshire, but to see communities not to far from here to be effected by that,” said Brad Keselowski, operator of the No. 9 Ford for RFK Racing and two-time winner at New Hampshire.

“We certainly want to have people here and we want to see people enjoy themselves. But these are just some of the realities of the world and life. We can only wish them well and hope they get the support they need.”
