The 25-year-old woman who was found dead in a Moxy Boston Hotel room was killed by a 43-year-old man, who then turned the gun on himself and took his own life, according to police.

Boston Police on Thursday released more details about last week’s hotel murder-suicide, and identified the two people who died in the Marriott hotel near Boston Common.

The woman who was killed was ID’d as Brookline’s Aanya Vinay, who in her obituary was remembered as a loving mother who “brought a smile to everyone’s face and brightened up their lives.”

“She was so full of love and laughter and happiness and compassion for others,” her obituary reads. “Her love knew no bounds.”

Last Monday afternoon, Boston police officers were alerted to the two dead bodies after a hotel worker found them in a room on the 13th floor.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner ruled Vinay’s death as a homicide.

“Further investigation revealed Keith Ashby, 43, of Boston, shot and killed Aanya Vinay, then killed himself, and his death has been ruled a suicide,” Boston Police said in a statement on Thursday.

Vinay leaves behind her “wonderful and charming” son Joel, her obituary reads.

“She was bubbly, full of life, and always saw the good in people,” the obituary states. “Aanya was very confident in many ways and was a direct communicator who lit up any room she entered. She loved traveling and was her mother’s companion.

“She also loved the ocean and studying marine biology,” her obituary continues. “Aanya went out of her way to help others, which is why she aspired to become a nurse. She enjoyed volunteering for various organizations, including the hemophilia foundation, and helping the needy in any way that she could.”
