Logan Volkringer (18 points) and Zade Garron Ciberay (10 points) paced Plymouth South (16-4) in a 48-36 win over Monomoy in the WinterFest.
Owen Kelly scored 32 points over two games in the Comcast Board 27 Tournament for Braintree, which beat Catholic Memorial, 63-44, and Lynn English, 67-62.

Ladainian Rodrigues and Connor Houle had 21 points each, while Emmett Hill (15 points) and Hayden Crowley (11 points) finished in double figures as well for Attleboro in an 86-60 win over Bishop Feehan in the first round of the Blue Bombardier Classic.

Laylah Gomez grabbed an offensive rebound and then sank the winning shot to lift Shawsheen (7-11) to a 52-51 Commonwealth Athletic Conference victory over Greater Lowell.

In a Middlesex Conference meeting, Justin Dantona and Quinn Haggerty scored a goal each as Melrose silenced Lexington, 2-0.
In nonleague action, Cole Ryan, Nate Sannella, Owen Lochiatto, Mike Chatterton and Luke Ryan (two goals) scored for Scituate (15-4-2) during a 6-3 win over Wachusett. … Aiden Baldner buried the winning goal in overtime for West/East Bridgewater (6-15-0) in a 3-2 victory over Bridgewater-Raynham. Chloe Bryda had a hat trick as Bishop Feehan (14-5-2) rolled to a 12-1 nonleague win over Barnstable. … Molly Whittier (two goals) and Sophia LaFauci got the goals, while Miyana Bahl made 34 saves as Waltham (13-5-2) topped Belmont, 3-2. … Maddie Kenny struck for four goals, including the winner, as Masconomet (6-13-0) defeated Wellesley 6-5 in overtime. Gabi Rudnyai scored the other two goals for Masconomet. … Madison Taylor, Angelina Palmer, Shannon McElvaney and Casey Buccigross (two goals) scored as Weymouth came from behind and earned a 5-1 win over Ursuline. … Jordan DiGiandomenico scored, while Sophia Luoni made 25 saves and earned her 8th shutout of the season as Natick defeated Dedham, 1-0.
BOYS TRACK
Weston turned in a dominant performance in winning the Division 5 boys state track championship.
The Wildcats captured two of the three relays as Jacob Kasanov, Noah Lago, Nicolas Barbieri and Ben Tavares won the 4×200 in a time of 1:32.65. They also won the 4×800 as the quartet of Aarav Mehta, Jack Tutun, William Cahill and Ryuji Nawa prevailed in a time of 8:29.25.
Lago won the 55-meters (6.55), Tavares took home the gold in the 600-meters (1:20.59) and Oscar Torres won the long jump (21-00.00).
Other local winners included Norwell’s Noah Mulligan in the 300 (35.19), Pentucket’s Jackson Beauparlant in the 1000 (2:38.92) and Dennis-Yarmouth’s Walter Mayo won the high jump (6-04). Norwell also won the 4×400 relay as Sam Pesko, Brody McVay, Griffin Murphy and Noah Mulligan coasted in a meet-record time of 3:30.89.
GIRLS TRACK
Guiliana Ligor was a multiple-winner as North Reading won the Division 5 state girls track title. Ligor won the 55-hurdles (8.29) and 600-meters (1:33.28). While teammate Callie MacLellan won the high jump (5-02.00).
Dennis-Yarmouth star Breanna Braham also won a pair of events, the 55-meters (7.18) and 300-meters (39.54). Other local championships were Triton’s Ava Burl in the 1000-meters (3:02.85), Weston’s Izzy Wheeler in the mile (5:19.65), Hamilton-Wenham’s Georgia Wilson in the long jump (17-08.25) and Seekonk’s Kearston Nelson in the shot put (34-10.00).
Norwell won the 4×800 relay as Hadley Amon, Audrey Birtwell, Alexandra Ning and Ariana Veneto posted a winning time of 10:12.73.
GYMNASTICS
Kaylee Wescott of Danvers won the State Individuals at Tewksbury, posting a winning score of 38.225. Amelie Hirst of Newton South finished second (37.075), followed by Carli Moran of Beverly (36.950), Lexie Masters of Wilmington/Bedford (36.850) and Abby LeFebvre of King Philip (36.750).
CLASS NOTES
The Massachusetts Track & Field Officials Association seeks new officials for the upcoming
three interscholastic seasons (cross country in the fall, indoor track and outdoor track). Once a candidate applies for membership, a rule book is sent to the candidates and must pass an open book quiz. In addition, an online class is required.
Members officiate track meets at local high schools and colleges and also other meets including the Boston Marathon. During the peak seasons of winter and spring, there are track meets seven days a week.
