Melania Trump got the assignment.
As Donald Trump returns to the White House as the 47th president, the First Lady is bringing back chic to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.
Monday morning began with a prayer service at St. John’s Episcopal Church. Melania Trump’s look was subdued for the occasion, yet she exuded elegance in a double-breasted navy coat by Adam Lippes, topped with a boater by Eric Javits, both American designers.
The inauguration festivities started over the weekend, with a fireworks display at the Trump National Golf Club in Sterling, Virginia. Melania wore a white jacquard pantsuit by Dolce & Gabbana under a gray Dior coat.
For Sunday’s wreath-laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington National Ceremony, Melania returned to Dior, this time in a capelike coat, worn with knee-high Christian Louboutin boots.
