An MBTA Commuter Rail train and a tractor trailer collided in Littleton on Monday, with the truck sustaining “heavy damage” in the crash, police said.
Littleton Police responded to the collision at the railroad crossing near King Street and Taylor Street, at around noon on Monday.
There were no injuries and no damage to the train, MBTA Transit Police reported.
“Heavy damage to tractor trailer,” an MBTA Transit Police spokesperson said in a statement, later adding, “We are investigating the circumstances of the incident.”
Passengers were taken off the MBTA Commuter Rail train, and transferred to another train.
Police asked community members to avoid the area, as the road was shut down at the tracks while the scene was cleaned up. The intersection was cleared about two hours after the collision.
