A 62-year-old Attleboro woman crashed her SUV into a pot shop Thursday afternoon, according to officials who reported multiple injuries at the scene.
Firefighters responded to Zahara Cannabis Dispensary, located at 70 Frank Mossberg Drive in Attleboro, for a report of a vehicle that plowed into the building at around 1:30 p.m.
First responders found a Nissan Pathfinder that had crashed through a wall, and came to a stop about 15 feet into the store.
The driver, who was the only person in the SUV, and a store employee were injured. They were transported to a local hospital by ambulance.
“The store is closed for the rest of the day, due to unforeseen circumstances,” Zahara posted on social media. “We will provide updates as they become available on when we will be reopening.”
The pot shop created a GoFundMe page for medical expenses from the crash.
“Any contributions are greatly appreciated. Zahara has donated the first $2,500,” the GoFundMe reads. “We appreciate your time. Zahara greatly appreciates our community and it’s important to us that we do all we can to help them.”
The Attleboro Police Department is investigating the crash.
A City Building inspector was called to the scene. Following an inspection, the official determined the building was structurally sound.
Firefighters used a hydraulic cutting tool to cut away parts of the building to facilitate removal of the car by a tow truck.
