


An 18-year-old Brockton man has been arrested in connection with allegedly shooting a 16-year-old girl in the face earlier this month.
Anthony Lopes was arrested on Monday on charges of: assault and battery by discharging a firearm, carrying a firearm without a license, possession of a high-capacity firearm, and armed robbery.
The arrest was made in connection with the shooting of a 16-year-old girl in Easton on Jan. 14.
That Tuesday afternoon, Easton police officers responded to a 911 call reporting a shooting at the Avalon Easton Apartments on Robert Drive.
Upon arrival, cops found the girl suffering from a gunshot wound to the face.
She was transported by the Easton Fire Department to Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton before she was brought by a medical helicopter to a Boston-area hospital with life-threatening injuries.
She was later listed in stable condition.
Witnesses told police that the suspect fled in a black SUV before police arrived. Investigators seized two vehicles following the shooting. The first vehicle was located in the Mansfield and the second one was found in Brockton.
Police after the shooting believed that this shooting was an isolated incident, and that the victim and shooter know each other.
