A man died at a New Hampshire campground on Sunday after he got trapped underneath a trailer, according to police.
Hampstead police and fire departments responded to Sunset Park Campground at around 1:55 p.m. on Sunday for a report of a man who had become trapped under a fallen camper.
The man was later extricated after responders used a Hampstead Town Highway front-end loader to lift the trailer off of him. The man was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.
“After a preliminary investigation, it appears the victim had been working underneath the elevated trailer, when the support system failed and the trailer came down on top of him,” Sgt. Adam Dyer wrote.
“The incident is being investigated by the Hampstead NH Police Department with assistance from the Hampstead Fire Dept. and the NH Medical Examiner’s Office,” Dyer added. “At this time the names of all parties involved are being withheld due to pending family notifications of the deceased.”
