Kudos and thank you to Donnie Wahlberg. His recent journalism is insightful and 100% correct. He recognizes the talents of Coach Belichick with good reason as to why he deserves to be the Patriots head coach.
The continuous vile and criticism from the pens of Bill Speros of the Herald and Benjamin Volin of the Boston Globe is hideous. Speros’ comedy is childish and Volin continues to spread wild rumors, cheap shots, and lies. They both have negative vendettas against Coach Belichick and Robert Kraft.
Donnie Wahlberg’s story proves Coach Belichick deserves to continue as Patriots coach. Wahlberg is correct, be careful what you wish for.
By the way , he may have a future as a sports writer.

The Donald is a vainglorious megalomaniac and cheater who led followers into a Jan. 6 riot at the Capitol, but he is not an insurrectionist. The 4-3 decision of the Colorado Supreme Court to ban his presidential nomination next year on 14th Amendment grounds would have had far more significance if it had been unanimous. The closely split decision smacks of blatant political finagling and our Supreme Court must finalize the issue.

The Colorado Supreme Court has banned Donald Trump from the Colorado ballot because of his participation in an insurrection against the United States. (“Colorado high court bans Trump from ballot,” 12/20/2023.) The case is being appealed to the U.S. Supreme Court. Either way, Trump loses. The Supreme Court could sustain the Colorado’s court’s decision. Trump loses. The Supreme Court could overrule the Colorado court. What then? President Biden is president and will therefore remain in office since the presidency is now vested with the power to disregard elections. Further, by Jan. 20, 2025 Democrats will control the House of Representatives.
My bet? The U.S. Supreme Court will uphold the law, rule against Trump and consign him to the dust bin of history, and our republic continues as a democracy.

Re: “Nikki Haley closing the gap on Donald Trump in New Hampshire,” thanks for the up to the minute coverage of New Hampshire’s GOP primary. The race is still very fluid. Once the other candidates start folding – after getting cut from the debate stage, a poor showing in Iowa or simply facing reality – the race between Haley and Trump will get even tighter. I look forward to the objective, on-the-ground coverage in the Boston Herald.
