I know all too well about the parking situation in East Boston. Yes, I have a sticker but that doesn’t help my kids if I want to invite them over for a dinner during the week. They won’t come. Why? Because they have two hours max. They’ve gotten tickets and decided to skip seeing ‘dear old dad’. Seems like my friends are also giving me the cold shoulder lately. My daughter in Salem is issued ‘guest’ passes which is a huge plus when I want to visit her. Why can’t the Boston traffic solons help us out? Sign me: Lonely Guy in East Boston.

I listened to the questions President Joseph Robinette Biden was asked by the local media in Helsinki, Finland and his response. Then I listened to the political comments in news stations CNN, Fox and MSNBC. Each station had their spin on how Biden answered the questions, so are these stations really reporting the news or are they nothing but a Democratic or Republican media platform. It really doesn’t affect me, I listen to the presidents response and have my own opinions.

War is complex, we honor those that serve and rightfully, and we all hope for no more wars, but they continue to occur. It is obvious that there will be loses of lives, always far too many, and they should not be those of innocent bystanders. The latest move by the USA to provide cluster bombs to the Ukrainian forces is simply wrong, not just because they are banned by more than 100 countries, not just because the Russian forces are using them but because of the impact they have on the general public as it’s not just one bomb to avoid but up to hundreds of bombs, and although smaller they are still deadly.
President Joe Biden has called it a “very difficult decision” but it is actually the wrong decision. I am not sure what he should do but there must be other options to find some peaceful end to this conflict which will then be followed by years of despair as the Ukrainian cities are rebuilt.
Pray for peace because you can’t bomb a country into peace, just destruction.

If you are a homeless veteran who proudly served in the armed service you can live on the street and try to get a seat in Boston’s Pine Street Inn or Quincy’s Father Bill’s Place. If you are an illegal immigrant, you are housed in a hotel and provided three meals a day, weekly housekeeping, toiletries, access to all the common areas so you can lounge while watching television in air conditioned space. The cost for housing illegal immigrants in just one hotel is currently at $2.6 million in 2023 and $10.7 million in 2024. There are 38 of these no-tell hotels that taxpayers are shoveling dollars to. Something is very wrong in the world of woke.
