As a Bruins fan for over 40 years I have been spoiled having great TV announcers from Fred Cusick to Dale Arnold and finally Jack Edwards. I am sad to see Jack Edwards retire but I am glad he is taking care of his health and he is honest enough to know that he felt he could not live up to his own standards.

Unlike John Sterling, the annoying, insufferable just-retired New York Yankees announcer, Jack Edwards never used stupid nicknames for players or descriptions of what was going on. I’ll especially miss the “Jackisms” (“Hearts of lions” and “the Leafs are mulch again,” which I hope we get to hear one last time). Happy retirement Jack Edwards and take care of yourself.

The Democratic Party believes that abortion on demand should be national policy, many in the party holding to that view even up to late in the third trimester, which others believe to be akin to infanticide. President Biden, while believing abortion should be legal, questions the party’s position on some parameters. I share the president’s unease. Rape, incest, maternal and fetal health are factors for individual contemplation and are morally difficult for many. The ending of a healthy unborn for the sake of convenience, which is the situation for many abortions on demand, is simply murder in the womb. And it should cause unease, whether legal or not.

The continuing assault on Massachusetts taxpayers never ends.  Unelected bureaucrat Transportation Secretary Monica Tibbits-Nutt, has suggested placing toll booths at the New Hampshire border, raising taxes on deliveries by Amazon, Lyft and Uber, and increasing the excise tax on pick-up trucks. Massachusetts recently got hit with a millionaire’s tax that was supposed to help solve transportation issues related to roads and bridges.  Currently, Massachusetts spends $216,066 on state-controlled miles, the third highest amount in the U.S.  But, like a good Democrat, Tibbits-Nutt wants to squeeze more dollars out of hard working citizens instead of hunting for ways cut costs.  Every pick-up truck driver should remember that increasing the excise tax on your truck is something “that’s on my list,” says Tibbits-Nutt.

A man gets impeached and goes to trial for one phone call, another man gets impeached for letting millions of illegal immigrants enter the country and his case gets dismissed. Let me think if that seems a little odd: One is a Republican and the other a Democrat
