Patriots owner Robert Kraft reportedly will have to wait at least another year to be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
The Hall of Fame’s contributor committee chose Ralph Hay, who helped found the NFL and was owner for the Canton Bulldogs from 1918 to 1922, to advance for consideration into the 2025 class over Kraft, ESPN’s Don Van Natta reported Friday.
The decision will be announced next month. Kraft was one of nine contributor semifinalists.
“I don’t know how that process works, but I don’t think there’s anyone more deserving than Robert Kraft,” head coach Jerod Mayo said Friday.
Kraft bought the Patriots in 1994. Since that time, the team has played in 10 Super Bowls and won six of them.
