NextImg:Jayson Tatum added to Celtics injury report; two starters questionable vs. Hawks

Jayson Tatum did not leave his run-in with Giannis Antetokounmpo unscathed.

The Celtics added Tatum to their injury report on Monday, listing him as questionable for Tuesday night’s NBA Cup matchup against the Atlanta Hawks with a left ankle sprain.

Tatum suffered the injury when he landed on Antetokounmpo’s foot during Sunday’s 113-107 win in Milwaukee. Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla found it “ridiculous” that the Bucks star was not called for a foul on the play. Tatum also spoke out about Antetokounmpo’s dangerous closeout, telling reporters: “There are certain calls you can’t miss.”

Tatum remained in the game and finished with 31 points, 12 rebounds and six assists, with 23 of his points coming in the second half.

Big man Al Horford also was a new addition to Boston’s injury report, listed as questionable against Atlanta with a left big toe sprain. The 38-year-old was expected to sit out either Tuesday’s game at TD Garden or Wednesday’s in Brooklyn regardless, as he does not play back-to-back nights at this point in his career.

Center Kristaps Porzingis, who remains out as he recovers from offseason leg surgery, and reserve guard Jaden Springer (questionable, left knee tendinopathy) rounded out the Celtics’ injury report.

Starter Jaylen Brown was removed after returning from a hip flexor strain against Milwaukee. The injury sidelined him for the previous four games.
