NextImg:How Bill Belichick feels about Jets HC’s endorsement he hasn’t received from Patriots

With reports and rumors continuing to swirl about Bill Belichick’s future as Patriots head coach, owner Robert Kraft has elected to stay silent on the matter.

Jets head coach Woody Johnson took an opposite approach over the weekend, telling the New York Post on Sunday that head coach Robert Saleh and general manager Joe Douglas would return in 2024 despite the team’s 6-9 record.

Belichick, who has led the Patriots to a 4-11 record so far this season, was asked Tuesday morning on WEEI’s “The Greg Hill Show” if he would appreciate a similar public show of support or if he has received one in private.

“I don’t really know anything about the Jets situation,” Belichick said. “I don’t know anything about that. (Going) to get ready for Buffalo here. Go back over the Denver game, make some corrections on that and talk about things we could have done better, things we need to build on, and then move on to Buffalo. That’s what I’m doing.”

Belichick, who led the Patriots to a 26-23 win Sunday night over the Broncos, sidestepped a follow-up question about Kraft’s lack of a public endorsement.

“Yeah, my job is to get the team ready to play every week that’s what I do,” Belichick said. “That’s what I’m going to keep doing. That’s what I’ve always done.”

The Patriots are set to play the Bills in Week 17 and the Jets in Week 18. They dropped from the No. 2 slot in the 2024 NFL Draft to No. 4 with Sunday’s win over the Broncos.
