The Dual County League Player of the Year went 14-4 for a team that made the Div. 3 state finals. The two-time DCL All-Star went 40-9 in her career. The National Honor Society member will study biomedical engineering at Cornell University.
JESSICA DAI
LEXINGTON
The senior captain went 21-2 at first doubles for the Div. 1 state champs. The three-time Middlesex League All-Star was 21-1 as a junior. In the offseason, Dai plays on an adult USTA 8.0 mixed team and on an adult USTA 4.0 women’s team. The honors student will attend Wellesley College.

HAMILTON-WENHAM
A No. 1 singles player for each of her three seasons, Jara went 19-3 for the Div. 4 state champs. Jara’s record as a varsity tennis player is a stellar 49-9. Her longterm goals are to play college tennis while being a psychology major with a minor in business management.

FOXBORO
The sophomore was MVP of the Hockomock League after a 17-1 season. In two years, Kornbluth has an overall record of 38-2. The honors student is the recipient of several awards for academic excellence. In the offseason, Kornbluth trains at the RI Tennis Academy.

BOSTON LATIN
The senior went 19-0 at first doubles this past season for the Div. 1 state semifinalists. The National Honor Society member received an A- or above in all of her classes. She will attend the engineering school at Tufts University.

PEMBROKE
The freshman standout went undefeated, earning Patriot League MVP honors. Makarewicz won several tournament outside of the high school season. She takes accelerated courses and competes year-round at the Kingsbury Club in Kingston.
KYRA MCCANDLESS
LEXINGTON
The sophomore turned in another undefeated season at second singles for the Div. 1 state champs. The honor roll student lists dance as her primary hobby. With two seasons to go, McCandless should be one to watch over the next 24 months.

ACTON-BOXBORO
The Dual County League’s Most Valuable Player went undefeated for the Revolution as they went 12-2 and reached the Div. 1 state semifinals. She takes all honors classes in school.

LINCOLN-SUDBURY
The No. 1 singles player as a freshman lost just one match during the regular season in helping her team advance to the Div. 1 state finals. Naum is ranked fifth in Massachusetts in her age group and 51st nationally by Tennis Recruiting. Naum takes honors classes and received the bronze medal in the RSM international math competition.

BOSTON LATIN
A three-year member of the team, the freshman competed in first singles for a Boston Latin team that went 19-1 and advanced to the Div. 1 state semifinals. Nguyen has played first singles for two years and made the team as a third singles player in the seventh grade. An honor student, Nguyen hopes to play college tennis.

Just an eighth-grader, Nguyen was undefeated at first doubles for a team that was undefeated until the Div. 1 state semifinals. The high honors student enjoys reading in her spare time. With younger talents like Nguyen, Boston Latin should remain atop the list of state title contenders the next few years.
DIYA PACHAMUTHU
LEXINGTON
The sophomore was the Middlesex Liberty MVP as her play at No. 1 singles played a pivotal part in Lexington winning the Div. 1 state title. An honors student in English and math, Pachamuthu is ranked among the top players in her age group in New England by the USTA. She hopes to eventually play tennis in college while becoming a medical student.

WELLESLEY
One of the top double players in the state, Plenge was a key cog for a Raiders’ team that went 20-2 and advanced to the Div. 1 quarterfinals before losing to eventual champion Lexington. The two-time All-Scholastic lost just one match as a sophomore. She will attend Tulane University.

ACTON-BOXBORO
The All-Dual County League performer played second singles and was 11-2 on the season. Rao is ranked among the top 20 in New England for her age group. The high honor roll student regularly plays USTA tournaments. In the offseason, she plays at the Longfellow Tennis Club in Natick.
KIKI REDDY
LEXINGTON
The sophomore was a steady presence for the eventual Div. 1 state champions, recording a 21-2 mark to give her a career total of 42-3. The honor roll student competes in USTA tournaments in the offseason. She enjoys painting and baking in her spare time.
CAROLINE SCHULSON
NEWBURYPORT
The senior capped off one of the most dominant careers in state history by going 22-0 and not losing a set as the Clippers went 20-3 and took home the Div. 3 state title. For her career, the top-rated player in the state went 63-0. In the offseason, Schulson competes in numerous USTA New England Junior Tournaments and has been invited to compete in USTA Training Camps. The honor roll student will play tennis and study nursing at Quinnipiac University.
KENDALL SKULLEY
MASCONOMET
The No.1 singles player for the Div. 2 state champions, the Northeastern Conference Player of the Year went 19-1 on the season. The three-time MEC Player of the Year concluded her career with a 49-3 record, all coming at first singles. The National Honor Society and National Art Honor Society member will attend Colby College.

DUXBURY
A two-time MVP of the Patriot League, the junior first singles standout posted a record of 19-2 in leading the Dragons to the Div. 2 quarterfinals. The three-time league All-Star has a career mark of 53-2. A member of the National Honor Society and Spanish National Honor Society, Sutliffe trains at the Kingsbury Tennis Club.
LIA SWIRE
LINCOLN-SUDBURY
Alternating between first and second singles, Swire went 14-5 in leading the Warriors to the Div. 1 state finals. She earned the deciding point in a 3-2 semifinal victory over Dual County League rival Acton-Boxboro. In her two years as a singles player, Swire has a 29-6 overall record. She competes in USTA tournaments and has been ranked as high as 15 in New England in her age group. Swire serves on the USTA New England’s Junior Player Council.

WINCHESTER
A three-time Middlesex League All-Star, Tan played a key role in leading the Red and Black to the Div. 1 state quarterfinals before losing to top-seeded Boston Latin. A singles player since her freshman year, Tan has a career record of 40-12. Tan is a member of the National Honor Society and school’s music honor society. Tan will be teaching tennis this summer as well as playing in a few USTA tournaments.

The freshman turned in a solid 16-4 record for the Wolfpack as they reached the Div. 1 state semifinals. In the offseason, Vu has trained with the Sportsmen’s Tennis and Enrichment Center in Dorchester for several years. She would like to explore more fields of art in the future.

The freshman lost just one match during the regular season. A well-rounded athlete, Welburn played junior varsity soccer and varsity basketball. In the offseason, Welburn plays basketball for the Bay State Jaguars AAU and would love to eventually play college basketball.
