A fire on a Red Line train this morning at Charles MGH, forcing passengers to evacuate while firefighters put out the blaze.

The fire broke out at about 5:45 a.m. according to Deputy Chief James Greene who described it as a “small fire.”

All passengers were able to self-evacuate at the platform, Greene said and there were not injuries to report.

Shuttle buses are providing service between Harvard and Broadway.
