BOYS BASKETBALL

Alex Penders scored 30 points to surpass 1,000 career points for Foxboro (13-8) in a 58-48 nonleague win over Melrose.

Dorien D’Entremont knocked down 12 points as Beverly (16-6) bested Danvers 82-37 in Northeastern Conference action.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Seniors Emma Felker (27 points) and Ashlee Talbot (21 points) set the tone offensively as Dracut (16-6) grinded out a 55-50 win over Tewksbury for its record 13th Merrimack Valley Conference victory.

BOYS HOCKEY

In a nonleague contest, Will Shannon scored a pair, while goaltender Chris Sacco made 17 saves as Masconomet (11-9) cruised to a 6-1 win over North Andover. … Chase Darcey had two goals, and Brady Darcey provided three assists for Shawsheen (16-3-1) in a 5-1 win against Methuen. … Jake McSweeney (two goals) and six other players hit the back of the net for Stoughton/Brockton in an 8-3 romp over Bellingham.

GIRLS HOCKEY

Kelly Holmes sniped four goals to power King Philip in a 5-2 victory over Bishop Stang in the Battle of the U Tournament championship.

Grace Mottau notched her 100th career point with a goal, and Maggie Lynch scored as well as Archbishop Williams (16-3-1) beat Winchester 2-0 in the Hingham Showcase.

Maddie McDonald netted a hat trick and distributed an assist to pace Norwell/Abington in a 4-1 win over West/East Bridgewater.
