John Lydon, a 9-year-old from West Roxbury, is back peddling around the neighborhood after his bike was stolen.

“This was an opportunity to right a wrong, especially in this holiday season,” said Larry Calderone, the Boston Police Patrolmen’s Association. Union members stepped up to buy the boy a new bike. He gave credit to former state Rep. Ed Coppinger who alerted the BPD to the family’s loss.

File this under an early Merry Christmas!
