A Duxbury woman will spend six to eight years in a Massachusetts prison for striking a pedestrian with her car in the summer of 2019 and fleeing the scene. The victim would die two days later.

A Plymouth Superior Court jury on Wednesday convicted Kristina Blackmore, 43, of leaving the scene of an accident causing death and motor vehicle homicide by negligent operation related to the death of another Duxbury woman, Andrea Gordon, 46.

“Andrea Gordon was simply out jogging that day when she was struck and killed by Kristina Blackmore, who fled the scene and left Ms. Gordon to die,” Plymouth District Attorney Timothy Cruz said in a statement. “I hope that in state prison, Ms. Blackmore will use her time to reflect on all of her actions on that fateful day and how things could have turned out very differently for all involved.”

Police responded to the 600-block of Washington Street in Duxbury a little before 6:40 p.m. on June 9, 2019, and found a woman later identified as Gordon unresponsive on the ground.

First responders performed life-saving measures before transporting Gordon to South Shore Hospital, where she would be pronounced dead two days later.
