A small dog tied to a pole in Beacon Hill was stolen by two men Monday morning, according to police who are investigating the dognapping incident.

Rose — a 9-year-old mixed breed female terrier — was grabbed by a Hispanic man who then got into a blue Honda Civic with another Hispanic man, Rose’s dog walker told Boston police.

The dog walker had tied up Rose and two other dogs to a pole in the area of Mount Vernon and Walnut streets in Beacon Hill when the 11-pound tan canine was stolen. The dog walker had tied up the three pups to pick up another dog on Walnut Street.

The two suspects in the blue Honda, one with blonde hair and the other with puffy hair, fled the Beacon Hill scene — heading down Walnut Street and taking a right on Beacon Street.

When the dog’s owner arrived at the scene, she told officers that her dog was wearing an apple air tag in its collar, which last pinged at 67 Beacon St.

Police searched that area, and found the apple air tag with no collar.

“We hope someone sees her, or the people who took her do the right thing and bring her back safely,” Erin Thomas, a volunteer for Missing Dogs Massachusetts, told the Herald.

“We just want her home,” the volunteer added.

The Instagram profile for “Rose McNugget” was seeking the public’s help to find her and bring her home on Monday.

“REWARD — no questions,” the Instagram profile wrote. “BOSTON — Help.”

Missing Dogs Massachusetts put out an alert about Rose.

“She is Light Caramel with White on her head and wearing a collar/had leash on when taken,” Missing Dogs Massachusetts wrote. “She was taken from the area of Mt Vernon St/Walnut St/Beacon Hill by 2 men driving a Blue Sedan.

“To answer questions, yes police & animal control have been contacted and yes, they are trying to get video of any plate numbers,” the nonprofit added. “If you may have seen anything at all, please call 617-480-4569/617-480-3222.”

Thomas said the nonprofit unfortunately hears of these dognapping incidents happening — whether it’s because the thief wants to resell the dog, or the person wants to keep the dog for themselves.

“We do unfortunately see this,” Thomas said. “We’re just hoping that someone reaches out and does the right thing.”

The volunteer noted that people who live in the Beacon Hill area should check their security camera footage for any video of the plate numbers and suspects.
