OVERVIEW

The South Shore League has always been a fertile ground for developing state title contenders.

This year is no different as Mashpee and Cohasset return key players and should be among the contenders for a Div. 7 state title. Despite losing a host of stars, one should never count out Rockland.

Amesbury should be among the top teams in the Cape Ann League as star linemen Aiden Donovan and Will Arsenault are back. West Bridgewater’s James Harris is one of the top quarterbacks on the South Shore, while O’Bryant and Latin Academy will be two of the better teams in the Boston City League.

In Div. 8, yet another SSL team has intentions of making noise this fall.

Fresh off a successful 7-on-7 campaign coupled with a solid group of returning players, Carver is more than primed to take the next step in the growing process.

Hull defeated KIPP to capture the Div. 8 state title last year and while both teams were hit hard by graduation, both should not be overlooked. Vocational bowl finalist Nashoba Tech is a team to watch in Div. 8 as is up-and-coming Atlantis Charter/Westport. Boston City League teams Brighton and Tech Boston will be in the mix.
