Police officers in Lynn said they found a dead body in a car on fire outside a dry cleaner’s shop.

Police responded to a reported car fire at 43 Boston St. in Lynn, which matches the listed address for a dry cleaner’s shop, at around 9:22 p.m. Thursday. When the fire was extinguished, the police said in a statement, they found one dead victim inside who has yet to be identified.

Buildings surrounding the car sustained minor damage, the police report.

Representatives of the Lynn Fire Department did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Detectives from Lynn Police, Lynn Fire Arson Squad and Massachusetts State Police are investigating the incident.
