Trump Derangement Syndrome is not going away. Any hope that this condition would diminish over time has been dashed. TDS is stronger than ever.
Look no further than philosopher/podcaster Sam Harris.
Last week, in an interview on the Triggernomics podcast, Harris explained that he had no problem with our Big Tech Overlords suppressing the Hunter Biden laptop scandal.
“At that point, Hunter Biden could have literally had the corpses of children in his basement, I would not have cared,” Harris told the two stunned hosts.
An old adage in politics is that you never answer a hypothetical question. Perhaps an update is needed: Never make up your own creepy hypotheticals and then expound on them in bizarre interviews.
Once Harris’ musings went viral, the New York Times’ best-selling author offered up a six-part Twitter explanation. Like all sufferers of TDS, he prefers deflection over reflection. He asserted that the podcast clip was “confusing people”.
Harris can pretend his rantings were lost in translation, but his message was actually crystal clear: When it comes to Donald J. Trump, liberals believe that the ends justify the means.
Not to be outdone, Alec Baldwin seized on an opportunity to show off his equally Socratic mind in an interview with CNN. Tinseltown’s angriest man continued his shameless tour of self-pity and spoke about the controversy surrounding the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. According to Baldwin, although he was holding the gun that killed Hutchins, he did not pull the trigger.
Unlike his previous interviews in which the actor proclaimed his innocence, this time he also had the gall to play the victim card. His oppressor? You guessed it—Donald J. Trump. Is there anything he can’t do?
Trump once said that he thought Baldwin probably shot Hutchins on purpose. Now the actor fears for his safety.
If Baldwin’s Rust shooting scandal can be blamed on Trump, then surely Brian Stelter has a strong case to make in regards to his recent lay-off from CNN.
After all, the soon-to-be former CNN host was fixated on the Fox News Channel and the former President.
Stelter’s obsession with all things Orange Man is one of many reasons why his show was a ratings disaster. Should DJT offer an apology to the “Reliable Sources” host?
To be fair, Trump Derangement Syndrome hasn’t only affected the sophisticated progressives. The condition has done a number on principled “conservatives” as well.
Congresswoman Liz Cheney, the left’s idol du jour, lost the GOP Wyoming primary last week by the kind of margin you don’t see every generation – 40 points.
In a hilarious 180-degree spin, the same mainstream media that once vilified Dick Cheney’s little princess as “Shooter’s Girl” has spent the last few months fawning over her. Alas, an excess of delusion and endorsements by Al Franken and Kevin Costner do not a Congresswoman make.
After her epic loss, The New York Times’ Frank Bruni wrote a piece headlined, “In the Ways That Count, Liz Cheney Won.” NBC’s Savannah Guthrie asked Cheney if she is pondering a run for President. Whenever the left starts to peg you as a future presidential contender, you know that big things are in your future. Just ask Michael Avenatti or Andrew Cuomo.
However, no one was more impressed with the RINO’s crushing repudiation than Cheney herself. During her sanctimonious concession speech, she droned on about her integrity and even compared herself to Abraham Lincoln. Someone should let Liz know that Hillary Clinton also compared herself to Honest Abe. Then again, that could be where she got the idea.
For TDS sufferers, this affliction is only metastasizing as time goes on.
But I have good news for the swaths of trust-funded Americans fixated on the former guy. Attorney General Merrick Garland’s approval of the raid on Mar-a-Lago may have just guaranteed that the Left’s toxic co-dependent relationship with Trump is not over—not even close!
