A Roslindale man with an outstanding warrant for trespassing has been arrested on suspicion that he sprayed a woman at a Fenway MBTA station with an “unknown liquid.”
“Take a bath,” Tyrell Benton, 36, allegedly yelled at his victim on Monday a little before 11:15 p.m. at the Fenway station on the Green Line’s D branch before spraying her down with what the MBTA transit police have described simply as an “unknown liquid.”
When officers arrived at the scene, they were greeted by the woman, whose hair and jacket were both wet from the unknown liquid.
She told them that she was standing with a companion on the inbound platform when the man approached her, told her to take a bath and then sprayed the liquid in her face. He remained on the platform, according to a police statement, where she was able to point him out to officers.
Upon arresting Benton, police discovered that there was a warrant out for his arrest from municipal court in East Boston for trespassing. He was placed into custody and will be charged with assault and battery. The victim declined treatment, according to police.
