The Celtics will be without skilled big man Kristaps Porzingis in Wednesday night’s showdown against the Western Conference-leading Minnesota Timberwolves, with the team ruling him out pregame with a right knee contusion.

Jrue Holiday (right elbow sprain injury management) and Al Horford (non-Covid illness), both of whom were listed as questionable prior to the game, are both available to play.

Porzingis’ knee injury was first disclosed after Monday’s game against the Indiana Pacers. He had previously been battling right eye irritation after being poked in the eye on Saturday, but while he was listed as questionable he was able to play on Monday.

Wednesday’s injury report makes no mention of any eye-related trouble for Porzingis, but now the 7-foot-2 forward will get a night off going into the back-to-back against Minnesota and Milwaukee.

Jayson Tatum, who did not play on Monday due to a lingering left ankle sprain, was not listed on the injury report and will play Wednesday.
