Earlier this week, Jayson Tatum starred in his first shoe commercial for Jordan Brand.
On Friday, his first signature shoe – the Jordan Tatum 1 – will be released.
“It’s something I’ve always dreamed about, less than a couple days away. Thankful, grateful, excited, and just enjoying the moment and looking forward to seeing them on kids and grownups’ feet across the country and around the world,” Tatum told reporters this week. “So, I’m happy and looking forward to it.”
The Jordan Tatum 1 will launch in a black and red “Zoo” colorway on Friday. Fans can purchase the shoes via Nike’s website for $120 in adult sizes, $90 in big kids, $75 in little kids and $55 in baby/toddler sizes. It will be the lightest shoe in Nike’s lineup.
The Jordan Tatum 1 will have three other color combinations previously unveiled in February, each a tribute to Tatum’s upbringing and family: “St. Louis,” “Barbershop” and “Pink Lemonade.”
Back in February, Tatum spoke about the color choices and personal touch he wanted the shoe to have.
“I am very excited about the overall aesthetic and how lightweight it is, but I love the colorways,” Tatum said. “We were able to stay consistent in terms of bringing some of my previous Air Jordan PEs to the first colorways of my signature shoe, giving fans the opportunity to wear what they already like. It’s a direct reflection of me, and that’s what I hope people see and feel.”
