NATE BLANCHETTE

CENTRAL CATHOLIC

The 182-pound junior was taken down just twice all season in going 53-0, winning the Lowell Holidays, Div. 1 North, Div. 1 State, All-State and New England titles. He recently won the NHSCA Nationals in Virginia Beach. For his career, Blanchette has more than 100 wins and a pair of New England titles to his name. Blanchette is also a national champion in Judo.

MICHAEL BOULANGER

MILFORD

The sophomore recorded a 47-7 record on the season, winning the Div. 2 West and Div. 2 State titles. Boulanger took second at the All-States and a fifth in the New Englands. A three-year varsity wrestler, Boulanger has an overall record of 95-20. The two-sport athlete has a 4.64 GPA. In the offseason, Boulanger trains at the MetroWest United Wrestling Club.

THOMAS BROWN

CHELMSFORD

The sophomore is well on his way to becoming an all-time great heavyweight wrestler in the state. He went 62-0 on the season, winning the Div. 1 North, Div. 1 State, All-State and New England titles. Brown then rolled to the NHSCA Sophomore National High School title. The two-time Merrimack Valley Conference Wrestler of the Year now has a career mark of 117-3. Brown is also a standout football player who earned all-league honors.

JACK CALLAHAN

TEWKSBURY

The senior was one of the top 126-pounders in New England this past season. Callahan went 53-4, capturing the Div. 3 North, Div. 3 State and All-State titles, while taking second at the New Englands. The Merrimack Valley Conference Wrestler of the Year concluded his career with a 137-28 record. A member of the National Honor Society, Callahan trains in the offseason at Doughboy Wrestling Club.

BRAYTON CARBONE

SHAWSHEEN

The 120-pound sophomore recorded an impressive 54-6 season, winning the Div. 1 North sectional, Div. 1 State and All-State titles. Carbone placed in the New Englands and was the runner-up at the Lowell Holidays. Carbone also played on the school’s football team that advanced to the Super Bowl. He will enter his junior year with more than 100 career wins.

LUKE CONNOLLY

NORTHEAST/BISHOP FENWICK

The 145-pound junior captured the Div. 2 North title, while taking second at the Div. 2 North state and third at the All-State in finishing the season with a 52-7 record. The two-time Div. 2 North sectional champion and Div. 2 state runner-up has a career record of 84-13. A member of the National Honor Society, Connolly would like to eventually play college football and study engineering.

MILES DARLING

ESSEX TECH/MASCONOMET

The 120-pound junior posted a 51-5 record on the season, placing in the top four at the Div. 2 North sectional, Div. 2 State, All-State and New England championships. Darling was the Outstanding Wrestler at the Wilmington Sons of Italy tournament and also won the Brendan Grant Memorial Tournament. A member of the National Honor Society, Darling has a career mark of 116-10.

BROCK DESMARAIS

DRACUT/TYNGSBORO

The 152-pound senior was named the MVP of the Mid-Wach League after winning the sectional and state title before placing second at the All-State. A two-sport standout, Desmarais is a four-year varsity lacrosse player who was named the MVP of the Merrimack Valley Conference. Desmarais has committed to play college lacrosse at Rutgers University.

MATTHEW HARROLD

HAVERHILL

The highly-touted freshman lived up to the early hype. The 220-pounder won the Div. 1 State title, was third in the All-States and second at the New Englands in ending the season with a 57-6 record. Harrold trains in the offseason at Smitty’s Barn.

RAWSON IWANICKI

ST. JOHN’S PREP

The 160-pounder was 61-0 as a senior, which included wins at the Div. 1 North Sectional, Div. 1 State, All-State and the New Englands. A three-time sectional champion as well as two-time state, All-State and New England titleist, Iwanicki ended his career with a 190-5 record. A member of the National Honor Society, Iwanicki will wrestle at Columbia University this fall.

HAMPTON KAYE-KUTER

MILFORD

The senior heavyweight was one of the top wrestlers in New England this past season. Kaye-Kuter was the All-State finalist and placed third at the New Englands. He was a key part of a Milford team that captured back-to-back Div. 2 state team titles. Kaye-Kuter will continue his wrestling career at the University of Nebraska in the fall.

RAFAEL KNAPP

ALGONQUIN

The 170-pound senior turned in a stellar 58-1 season, winning the Div. 1 West/Central, Div. 1 State, All-State and New England titles. Knapp was fourth at the Senior Nationals, earning All-American honors. A three-time sectional champion, Knapp ended his career with a 133-14 record. A three-year starter in lacrosse, Knapp will wrestle at the University of Buffalo in the fall.

NATHAN LEACH

BRIDGEWATER-RAYNHAM

The 195-pound senior captured the All-State title and finished fifth in the New Englands, capping off an impressive 42-2 season, giving him a career mark of 90-9. The MVP of the Southeast Conference is also an honor roll student. A multi-sport athlete, Leach was an all-conference performer in football. He will attend Johnson and Wales University in the fall.

EMMETT LOGAN

LOWELL

The 106-pound freshmen went 51-6 on the season, 39 of the wins coming via pin. Logan was undefeated in dual meet competition and went to win the Salem Blue Devil Classic and Wayland Holiday Tournament titles. A finalist at the prestigious Lowell Holidays, Logan was a finalist at the Div. 1 North, Div. 1 State, All-State and New Englands. A high honor roll student, Logan trains at Doughboy Wrestling Club.

DREW MCGOURTY

BRAINTREE

The 152-pound junior had a banner year for the Wamps. The Bay State Conference Herget MVP had an overall record of 53-2, won the Div. 1 South sectional, Div. 1 State and All-State titles, while taking a third at the New Englands. A two-time sectional champion, McGourty has a career mark of 84-8. In the offseason, McGourty trains with MetroWest United Wrestling.

YANDEL MORALES

ANDOVER

The 106-pound freshman had a superb season, winning the George Bossi Lowell Holidays, Div. 1 North Sectional, Div. 1 State and All-State title before taking a third at the New Englands, ending the season with a 57-2 record. A two-year varsity performer, Morales already has 97 wins and a Merrimack Valley Conference Wrestler of the Year award on his resume.

BRENT NICOLOSI

HAVERHILL

The 160-pound junior was the runner-up at the New Englands and took third at the All-States, ending his season with an overall record of 126-6. A Lowell Holiday champion, Nicolosi has been a NHSCA Freshman All American and a past Div. 1 state champion. In the offseason, Nicolosi trains at Smitty’s Barn.

JONAH PAULINO

MONTY TECH

The junior standout was the premier 132-pounder in Massachusetts this past season. Paulino was 51-1, including titles at the Lowell Holidays, Div. 2 West, Div. 2 state and All-States, before settling for third at the New Englands. A two-time sectional and state champion, Paulino has a career record of 80-4.

ALEX SCHAEUBLIN

ST. JOHN’S PREP

The 113-pound senior captured the Div. 1 North, Div. 1 State and All-State title as he posted a stellar 58-1 season. A two-time Div. 1 State champion, Schaeublin ended his career with a 131-6 record. A two-time Academic All-American as well as an honor roll student, Schaeublin has committed to wrestle at Trinity College.

JAMES TILDSLEY

SHAWSHEEN

The 132-pound freshman won his second straight Lowell Holiday title as well as the Div. 1 North Sectional and Div. 1 state titles concluding his season with a 61-3 record. Tildsley also plays football and was the leading tackler for Shawsheen on its run to a Div. 5 Super Bowl appearance. In the offseason, Tildsley trains at Doughboy Wrestling in Lowell.

SIDNEY TILDSLEY

SHAWSHEEN

Tildsley won a second straight Div. 1 North, Div. 1 State, All-State and New England titles in boosting his career record to an amazing 132-1. The 138-pound sophomore went on to earn All-American honors by placing second at the Sophomore National High School championship at Virginia Beach. An honors student, Tildsley earned All-Scholastic honors in football as he led the Rams to the Div. 5 Super Bowl title game.

JAYDEN TOPPAN

GLOUCESTER

Toppan proved himself to be the premier 225-pounder in the state this past season, capturing the Div. 3 North, the Div. 3 State and All-State titles. The Northeastern Conference Wrestler of the Year, Toppan has a career record of 125-31. A three-sport athlete who plans on wrestling and studying business marketing in college, Toppan trains in the offseason at Smitty’s Barn in Kingston, N.H.

MICHAEL TOPPAN

GLOUCESTER

The junior captain was the Div. 3 North and Div. 3 State champion at 195 pounds. Toppan was second at the All-State and placed in the New Englands. The honor roll student has a career record of 127-23. A multi-sport athlete, Toppan was a captain in football and also competes in track and field. In the offseason, Toppan trains at Smitty’s Barn in Kingston, N.H.

JOE TULLY

CARVER

The 160-pound senior won his second Div. 3 South sectional and Div. 3 state title, earning Outstanding Wrestler in the process. The two-time South Shore League MVP took second in the All-State and ended his high school career with a fifth-place effort at the New Englands. An honors student, Tully will study computer science and engineering, while wrestling at WPI.

MATT WALSH

BEDFORD/ACTON-BOXBORO

After a knee injury cut Walsh’s junior season short, the 182-pound senior made up for lost time by posting a solid 23-3 season. Walsh won the Div. 1 Central/Metro title, then placed in the top three at the Div. 1 State, All-State and New England tournaments. Walsh took fourth at the National High School Wrestling championships. A member of the National Honor Society, Walsh will attend Harvard University in the fall.
