LUCAS BIKKESBAKKER

CONCORD-CARLISLE

An All-Dual County League selection, the junior went 11-3 for a Concord-Carlisle team which advanced to the Div. 2 state semifinals. The two-time All-Scholastic has a career record of 23-8. In the offseason, Bikkenbakker trains with Francisco Paco Maroto.

KIRAN BHATIA

BROOKLINE

The sophomore doubles specialist went 22-1 on the season and won his only singles match in helping Brookline reach the Div. 1 state finals. The two-time Bay State Conference All-Star has a career record of 32-1 in doubles. Off the court, Bhatia was awarded the 2023 Special Achievement in News Writing from the New England Scholastic Press Association.

RAVIN BHATIA

BROOKLINE

A sophomore who earned Bay State Conference All-Star honors, Bhatia was undefeated in 22 doubles matches before losing in the Div. 1 state finals. A well-rounded student-athlete, Bhatia received several Special Achievement Awards from New England Scholastic Press Association and also placed in the top 10 in the Massachusetts State Lincoln-Douglas Championship.

DEVEN DEVAIAH

BROOKLINE

The No. 1 singles player for the eventual Div. 1 state finals was named the MVP of the Bay State Conference. Devaiah has a 4.0 GPA and competes in USTA tournament throughout the season and hopes to play Div. 1 college tennis.

MAX DING

WESTON

The junior singles standout went undefeated, earning Dual County League All-Conference honors in helping his team win the Div, 4 state title. He has a mainstay on three state championship teams during his time at Weston, excelling in both singles and doubles. A member of the National Honor Society, Ding is a National Latin Exam gold medalist. Ding trains at the New England Tennis Academy.

MIKA GARBER

MARBLEHEAD

The Northeastern Conference star overcame a preseason back injury to go undefeated in league matches and finished with a 12-3 record. The three-time NEC Most Valuable Player amassed more than 50 wins in his career. The honors student with a 4.19 GPA competes in USTA and UTR tennis tournaments.

NOAH GILLIGAN

WESTON

The junior captain earned Dual County League Player of the Year honors after going 8-2 and leading the Wildcats to the Div. 4 state title. Gilligan won the doubles draw at New England Winter Sectionals run by the US Tennis Association and placed fifth in the Singles draw. Gilligan has achieved a Universal Tennis Rating (UTR) of 9.8 which places him in the top 20 players of his age in New England. Gilligan is the recipient of the Harvard Book Prize and has published both political commentary and fiction in professional and youth journals.

JAGGER GRACE

DOVER-SHERBORN

The Tri-Valley League Small MVP made the most of his first season as a singles player as he went 15-3 and helped guide the Raiders to a berth in the Div. 3 state finals. The three-time TVL All-Star ended his career with a 54-8 record. A two-sport athlete, Grace will attend the University of Colorado Boulder.

ALEK KARAGOZYAN

BELMONT

The senior went 10-2 on the season at No. 1 singles and earned the school’s Coaches Award in the process. Karagozyan went undefeated in two previous seasons and has been ranked among the top-5 in the USTA New England 14s and 16s. Karagozyan was a National Merit Scholarship Winner and won several other school-related academic awards, He will attend Brown University.

LEX KAYE

HOPKINTON

The Tri-Valley League Large MVP for the second time, Kaye went 15-0 and played a big role in leading the Hillers to the Div. 2 state semifinals. For his career, Kaye posted a 42-6 record. The National Honor Society member is also a two-time TVL All-Star in cross-country as well as indoor track. He will run cross-country and track while majoring in kinesiology at St. Olaf College in Minnesota.

LOGAN LI

WINCHESTER

The Middlesex League All-Conference selection posted a 10-2 record on the season, giving the two-time captain a career mark of 39-5. A two-time Herald All-Scholastic and member of both the National Honor Society and National French Society, Li received school awards for study of Economics, Mathematics, US History and French. Li will attend UC San Diego to study bioengineering.

BEN LIPTAK

ST. JOHN’S PREP

The senior captain and co-MVP of the Catholic Conference went 20-1 at first doubles as the Eagles made it to the Div. 1 state semifinals. A member of three Catholic Conference titles and a past recipient of the Coaches Award, Liptak ended his career with a 40-3 record. The honor roll student will attend Bentley.

CONNOR LIONA

WESTFORD ACADEMY

The Dual County League Player of the Year was 16-0 on the season. The two-time DCL All-Star has a career record of 27-12. A high honors student, the junior would like to play tennis and study sciences in college.

RUDR MALAYYA

LEXINGTON

The freshman was 20-1 at No. 2 singles as Lexington went 25-0 and captured the Div. 1 state title. Malayya is ranked No. 6 in USTA New England 14U. He took a fourth twice in the USTA L2 National Level Tournament in Virginia Beach. He earned honors in his first quarter.

JOEL MCCANDLESS

LEXINGTON

The No. 1 singles player for the eventual Div. 1 state champions went 19-1 on the season, giving him a career record of 38-12. A member of the National Honor Society and National Merit Scholar, McCandless will attend RPI.

AAHAN MEHRA

LEXINGTON

Mehra excelled at both third singles and first doubles for the undefeated Minutemen. Mehra turned in a 22-1 season on his way to earning a Middlesex League All-Conference selection. For his career, Mehra was 37-2 in singles and 35-4 in doubles. A member of the National Honor Society, Mehra will attend Tufts.

NAVEEN NEMAPALURI

MALDEN

The MVP of the Greater Boston League went undefeated on the season, giving him a career record of 67-2. A member of the National Honor Society, Nemapaluri is a member of the MIAA Student Advisory Committee. He will attend UMass-Boston to study business administration.

LUKE PROKOPIS

ST. JOHN’S PREP

The sophomore was one of the top doubles players in the state this past season, going 20-1 for a St. John’s Prep team that advanced to the Div. 1 state semifinals. A two-time Catholic Conference All-Star, Prokopis has a career record of 34-5. The National Honor Society member has a 4.36 GPA. His longterm goals are to play high level college tennis.

ROHAN REDDY

LEXINGTON

The senior went 16-2 at first doubles for an unbeaten Div. 1 champion team. For his career, Reddy amassed a 26-2 record in singles and doubles. The National Honor Society member will attend Case Western Reserve University in Ohio.

TIM VARGAS

DUXBURY

The MVP of the Patriot League played No. 1 singles for the Div. 2 state champions. Vargas is currently ranked eighth in Massachusetts and 14th in New England for his age group. An honor roll student, Vargas also plays golf and pickleball.

WAYLAND

An all-Dual County League performer at No. 1 singles, the freshman helped lead Wayland to the Div. 3 state title. Zhang takes all honor classes and will add AP Calculus BC in his sophomore year. Zhang also plays on the school’s soccer team.
